Unemployment remains high with low prospects for job creation in 2011. This along with concerns over inflation is likely to keep consumer confidence subdued.

Consumer spending on electricals (white goods, grey and brown goods and telecoms equipment), fell around -1.8% in 2009 as a result of low consumer confidence in the weakening economy with brown goods particularly weak.
