Ice Cream - Europe - August 2011

GNPD in this report covers three sub-categories: dairy-based frozen products, soy-based frozen products and water-based frozen products. All comprise ice cream intended for consumption at home or packed in single serve units, and include: ice creams sold on sticks, in cones, individual tubs, and large tubs, in measures of pints, quarts and litres; frozen dairy-based yogurt; and also multi-packs of dairy-based ice creams.

GMN covers all packaged ice cream, sorbets and water ices in family packs, individually wrapped and multipack format. It excludes unpackaged items, desserts, frozen cakes, frozen yoghurts and tofu. Market value and volume comprises sales through all retail channels including direct to consumer. Please note that for individual countries, the scope in terms of segmentation or distribution may differ depending on which source data are available.
