While this interest in fresh ingredients is universal, diners' dietary preferences are growing more diverse, reflective of their life stage and personalized nutrition needs. Younger generations have a growing interest in plant-based options, but still strongly associate protein-rich menu items with healthiness. As older generations, in particular Baby Boomers, enter their next life stage, operators must cater to their more specialized health needs by offering heart-healthy and lighter menu options."
