Description

“Celebrating both another year of record international arrivals and the success of San Sebastián’s year as a European Capital of Culture, the Spanish tourism industry entered 2017 on a high. The latter part of the year, however, was very challenging for Spain and its tourism sector. Despite the Barcelona terror attack, the Catalan independence vote and anti-tourism protests, preliminary data indicate that the Spanish tourism industry had another record-breaking year in 2017. Looking ahead to the not-too-distant future, some industry insiders have expressed concerns about the potentially detrimental impact that the UK’s pending exit from the EU could have on arrivals from that country. Many commentaries, however, suggest this is unlikely to be significant.”
