Description

“There is growing awareness in Zimbabwe that tourism – as an industry with the potential to stimulate investment, increase exports and generate employment – can make an important contribution to the country’s economic recovery and its future financial health. In the summer of 2017 the former tourism and hospitality industry minister, Walter Mzembi, set ambitious targets for 5 million arrivals, US$5 billion tourism revenue and a 15% contribution to GDP by the industry for 2020… Although it is unlikely that these goals will be achieved so quickly, the future growth of the sector is widely anticipated.”
– Jessica Kelly, Senior Tourism Analyst
